La Boule Bleue



One of the highlights in my visit to Marseille was a trip to the La Boule Bleue manufacturer. This family operation began in 1904 (visit their website). I had the chance to take a look around, purchase a set of competition boules, meet Herve, Claire and some of the friendly staff. They allowed me to take photos and watch as they were taking cooked boules out of the fire putting them in the oil to cool off. The whole process was quite interesting and I am grateful that they took the time to answer my questions and even allowed me to join them for a cup of coffee during their break.
